“You’re not very important to me, but be my friend anyway” is what you’re saying when you don’t bother remembering other peoples’ names!
There are many ways to build relationships and get people to like you but one of the best methods, which most people dismiss, is to remember peoples’ names. ‘I forget their name in seconds’ or ‘I’m not bad with faces but I’m just terrible with names’, are phrases we hear regularly. If there is one action you can take to show the other person you see them as important when talking to them is to remember their name.
